Ingredients

4 beef cube steaks

Salt

Black pepper

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon paprika

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

Vegetable oil for frying

For the Gravy

2 tablespoons reserved frying oil

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

Salt

Black pepper

Instructions

Season the cube steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.

In a shallow bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

In another bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.

Dredge each steak in the seasoned flour, dip into the egg mixture, then coat again with flour, pressing firmly to create a thick crust.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot.

Fry the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.

For the gravy, carefully remove excess oil from the skillet, leaving about 2 tablespoons.

Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Gradually add milk while whisking until smooth and thickened. Season with salt and black pepper.

Spoon the hot gravy over the chicken-fried steaks before serving.
